Golfing on the Portuguese AlgarveCastro Marim(18 Holes, Par 72)
Castro Marim Golf is just over the Portuguese border, five minutes drive from Ayamonte. Located close to the historic town of Castro Marim, the course meanders through the hills on the banks of the River Guadiana, giving you stunning views across the river to neighbouring Spain, it's Parador Hotel sited by a former Spanish river fort and Ayamonte with it's boat harbour. This course calls for careful play with strategically placed water hazards and fairway terrain that can place lead to trouble, not to mention the well situated bunkers that await an erring ball. The par-3 on the seventeenth is a hole that calls for special club selection with bunkers in front of the green and a lake behind, whilst at the same time subject to the prevailing winds off the sea.
